Solo: A Star Wars Story gives off a dark, Imperial vibe

Right off the bat, the music accompanying the imagery encompasses as a western-like vibe. It’s different from past Star Wars trailers, and different is good. Solo: A Star Wars Story needs to have its own identity, and from what we’ve seen thus far, that’s what we’ll get with the movie.

Our first glimpse is possibly the world Mimban or maybe Han Solo and Q’ira’s homeworld of Corellia). Either way, the Imperial presence of the world is massive, with a breathtaking shot of a Star Destroyer in progress.

Much like The Force Awakens (a crashed Star Destroyer on Jakku) and Rogue One’s jaw-dropping view of the original Death Star, the trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story showcases the Empire’s might from their (certain) point of view.

The lovely Emilia Clarke provides the narration, giving us a glimpse into the character of Han Solo.

Next, we get a closer look at Enfys Nest, the fearless leader of the pirate crew called the Cloud-Riders. Her mask (somewhat) resembles that of Kylo Ren and from the looks of things is someone you don’t want to mess with. Yes, Enfys is female — could it secretly be Q’ira? What a twist that would be!

A good portion of acting is the effective use of facial expressions, with Ehrenreich’s face full of concern and determination. Hayden Christensen had this down to a “T” in Attack of the Clones and especially Revenge of the Sith.  Ehrenreich has the look of Han Solo down to a “T,” the look of a rugged scoundrel.
