9. Crazy Yoda – Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back

Yoda! The wisest, the oldest, the best of all the Jedi and completely off his rocker.

We met Yoda for the very first time in Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back when Old Ben tasked Luke in seeking out the Jedi Master in the Dagobah system. Luke needed to finish his Jedi training and Yoda was the one who could help him do it, however, when we first met Yoda it was not what we expected; at all.

When we first learned about Yoda’s existence we all pictured this god-like Jedi. You all probably had your own visions of what he would look like, how he would act, and how awesome he would be.

Just think about it for a moment. The only other Jedi we had met before Yoda was Old Ben, and he was awesome. So if Yoda is better than Old Ben, then we were in for a truly special.

None of us, absolutely none of us, expected to get what we got.

Instead of a wise, Jedi god, we got this crazy little green-like goblin. And best of all, Luke’s expression represented exactly what we were all thinking.

Luke had this dumbfounded look of confusion. You could clearly see the gears turning in his head thinking, “What? This guy? This guy is the Jedi master? Nah, there is no way.”

And that was what we all thought too.

Yoda’s introduction was creativity brilliant, hilarious and by far, one of the most memorable moments in the Star Wars universe.
