16. Ahsoka Tano

After binge-watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka quickly became one of my current favorite characters. She learned from Anakin Skywalker, which is great, and knew exactly when to walk away from him, which is better. Later, she fights him as Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels. Not many people are willing to stand up to Darth Vader, but she’s one of the few, and she doesn’t even give it a second thought.

Not only is Ahsoka a skilled Jedi, but she’s always trying to help others. If you haven’t read Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston, I highly recommend it. It fills in some of the gaps between when she left in Clone Wars and returned in Rebels.

I’ll admit that Ahsoka takes some time to warm up to at first. You can see that Anakin feels that way, too. She’s eager to learn and can be a bit annoying at times. However, her character growth throughout the two TV shows and the book is amazing. Fans loved the character and Lucasfilm seemed to listen to them by keeping her around for The Mandalorian and the Ahsoka live-action series.

Another great thing about Ahsoka is how many fans, new and old alike, are embracing her character. If you go to conventions, you’ll see more and more people dressing up as her, and girls look up to her. She went from being a kid to a brave, selfless warrior for the Rebellion, and that’s a good example for anybody.
