The 25 most influential Star Wars characters
24. Jabba the Hutt
Jabba the Hutt is one of Lucas’ most vile creations, a massive slug mob boss. He makes Leia into one of his slaves, which is disgusting, and puts Han Solo on display after he’s frozen in carbonite, which is embarrassing. He’s affiliated with neither the Rebellion and the Empire, not completely. At the end of the day, it doesn’t appear that he has any allegiance other than to himself.
What makes Jabba influential is just how much of a hold he has over his little corner of the galaxy. People know not to mess with him, which doesn’t stop Han from trying. This lands Han in quite a bit of trouble with Jabba over the years and explains why he almost always has a bounty on him.
Jabba is also part of the Hutt Council, which is led by the heads of the five most powerful crime families in the galaxy. However, Darth Maul gets him to later join the Shadow Collective, which makes the group even more dangerous than they were before. Jabba is an extremely powerful criminal with a wide array of criminal connections. The further you are from him, the better.
