2. Star Trek
We’ve all heard the long-standing debate. Devoted Star Wars fans just love to have it out with Star Trek fans about which franchise is all-around better. Whether one has a preference or not though, I’m actually in the camp of believers that think you should consider watching both. They’re still different shows and Star Wars fans might just find that there’s a lot to love about Star Trek, too.
Let’s glance at the similarities you might come to know and love, shall we? To begin with, there’s the obvious. Both are set in space and both tell truly epic stories. Whether you hop on board the Millennium Falcon or the Enterprise, you’re sure to have a great adventure. Both franchises have ties to westerns, too. It doesn’t take a genius to see the inner cowboy in Han Solo, right?
Obviously, they’re different beasts at their core, but if this subgenre sounds like your cup of tea, then I highly recommend checking out Star Trek on Netflix. The streaming service has a massive offering for you to dive into. The full list of titles currently available to stream includes the original series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Enterprise, Deep Space Nine AND The Animated Series. If you’re not sure which one to get started on, I’ll take a strong stance here and recommend Deep Space Nine or The Next Generation. There’s a lot here to take up your attention if you’re looking for something new to dive into.
