11. Edge of the Universe

Sometimes you need a break from all the scripted series out there. If you, like me, are into a good docuseries every now and again, look no further than Edge of the Universe. Star Wars fans who enjoy the space aspect of the movies will enjoy the real life space science depicted here.

I favor this little docuseries because it explores some subjects you don’t always learn about in class. Its episodes cover comets and asteroids, the history and nature of the universe and–perhaps most pertinent to fans who enjoy seeing the fictitious planets showcased in Star Wars–the probability of men finding a new Earth-like planet that could support human life. It’s kind of like seeing what Star Wars would be like in real life!

While there are plenty of good space-related documentaries on Netflix, Edge of the Universe is good for if you don’t have the full amount of time to sit down and watch an entire movie. There are 3 episodes available for streaming and they each clock in at a tidy forty-nine minutes. That’s perfect for streaming over a lunch break or watching while you get ready for the day!

I recognize that a docuseries may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but patient viewers who fantasize about Star Wars being real should enjoy all that this short series has to offer. Give it a shot if you’re ever craving a genre change-up and you might just discover your next binge.
