Star Wars: 30 greatest moments not seen in the movies
13. Star Wars: The Clone Wars – “Sacrifice” (S6E16)
The finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars leads almost perfectly into Revenge of the Sith. Yoda goes through quite an ordeal to prove he’s worthy to retain consciousness after death via Qui-Gon Jinn
Yoda and Darth Bane
The real gem of this episode is a meeting between Yoda and Darth Bane. For those unfamiliar, Darth Bane is responsible for The Rule of Two, which has governed Sith Lords for eons. Simply put, only two Sith Lords can exist at a time. One master should embody the dark side, and an apprentice should learn from the master while craving power and control. It’s a dastardly rule that led to so much in the Star Wars canon, including Anakin’s ascension to Darth Vader and his redemption to rebalance the Force.
The great part about the video above is that not only does Yoda go face to face with Darth Bane, but that he insults him! This is everything that Balrog and Gandalf wishes it could be. Yoda doesn’t scream, slam a bridge in sacrifice, or act rashly. He stares death in the face, mocks it, and walks through it like a boss.
