Will we see a Force user on Star Wars: Resistance?
Most Star Wars TV shows and movies have featured a Force user. Will we see one in Star Wars: Resistance?
Star Wars: Resistance takes place on the enclosed world of the Colossus, showcasing pilots, merchants, mechanics, and everything in between on this station.
One thing we have gotten to know well in Star Wars is the Force. It’s the basis of the trilogies with Force users on either the light or the dark side. But Star Wars: Resistance doesn’t feature a Force user.
Other than Poe Dameron in the series premiere we haven’t even met someone who was Force sensitive yet.*

That reminds us there is so much more to this world George Lucas created than Jedis and Siths. In fact, there’s a whole lot more of non-Force users than there are those wielding lightsabers. So it made us wonder, will we ever see a Force user in Star Wars: Resistance.
First, we look at the timeline. The show takes place about six months before The Force Awakens. By the time The Force Awakens rolls around, there aren’t many Force users in the galaxy, but they do exist. The only ones we know about are Snoke, Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker (though he is in exile), and Leia, who is Force sensitive. Rey doesn’t realize her powers until later.
In The Last Jedi, we see a kid in the end using the Force to snag a broom a few feet away, which tells us there are those out there where the Force is bubbling up. But Star Wars: Resistance is not there yet.
It’s unlikely we will see someone on Star Wars: Resistance who uses the Force, unless, of course, Kylo Ren makes an appearance to work with Captain Phasma and whatever her plan is for the Colossus. The lack of a prominent Force user makes it unlike any other Star Wars series we have dealt with before.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars featured a plethora of Jedi. Star Wars: Rebels gave us new Jedi we had never met, but they wielded the Force just as well as anyone else.
There are few releases out there where the Force is not prominent such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Darth Vader cameo though), Solo: A Star Wars Story and the Doctor Aphra comic series, with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader making appearances. But those occur less often.
It’s likely we won’t see the Force, but we don’t need it either. The is a whole world out there to explore and Star Wars: Resistance is taking us there.
Watch Star Wars: Resistance on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
