27. Ahsoka vs. Darth Vader (Star Wars Rebels)

The season 2 finale of Star Wars Rebels gave us a glimpse of a showdown between Ahsoka and Darth Vader. It’s a good thing Ahsoka showed up, too. If she hadn’t, Ezra likely wouldn’t have made it out of there alive. Very few people survive the wrath of Darth Vader.

Ahsoka takes a good fall, but we see her get up as Vader is trying to keep Ezra and Kanan from leaving with the Sith Holocron. In both instances, she has perfect timing. She gives them just enough time to get away and pushes Ezra back when he tries to get her to leave with them.

It isn’t surprising that Ahsoka would want to finish what she started. She knows very well what Vader is capable of. This big surprise that we get, though, is the fact that we don’t even get to see how the fight ends. We’re left wondering what Ahsoka’s fate is.

Her relationship with Anakin in the past just puts more emphasis on how much is at stake when the two go up against each other. There’s no denying how skilled Ahsoka is even if she went about things in a bit of an unconventional way. After this episode, we just had to speculate about what happened and people certainly loved doing that. But to see Ahsoka fighting the man who was once Anakin Skywalker is still something that takes a while to sink in.
