12. Luke and Leia’s telepathic Force link (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back)

Remember that time when we found out Luke and Leia were brother and sister? Not only was it quite the awkward moment, but it was a shock to the characters. Their reactions made the audience feel the same way once they got over how awkward that now made their previous kiss.

While we learn that the two are siblings, it might be more important that we also learn about their telepathic Force link. It comes into play when Luke is in trouble on Cloud City. It also plays a role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Leia knows that Luke is out there somewhere, she just can’t pinpoint where he is.

While she’s not reading his mind in that instant, we can tell how strong their connection is and it probably just continued to grow stronger as time went on. In The Last Jedi, Leia knows that Luke is a Force ghost before anyone else does and it doesn’t surprise her one bit. They have a connection that’s even stronger than Leia’s connection with Han that we see in The Force Awakens.

Luke and Leia’s Force link makes sure they’re always aware of one another. They know when the other needs help and it greatly strengthens their relationship just by being there.
