9. Darth Maul is still alive (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars brought a lot of great moments throughout its run, but one of the most shocking is by far the fact that Darth Maul is still alive. Obi-Wan Kenobi had literally cut him in half and even that didn’t stop him. Maul’s hate for Kenobi is what ultimately kept him going.

In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Savage Opress found him on Lotho Minor with his robot legs and was able to get him out of there. Darth Maul wasn’t in a great state of mind, so it took him some time to get back to normal with the help of Nightsister Mother Talzin on Dathomir.

Going back to his home planet gave Maul the focus he desired as he set his sights on Kenobi and little else. The moment that we see that Darth Maul is still alive, we know he’s going to be trouble. If he was able to survive all that time on a junk planet, there’s no telling just how far he’ll go.

After his reemergence, Maul also has a very interesting story to follow, which helps push this moment just inside the top 10. He’s a character who everyone thought was dead and he just continues to build a name for himself once he returns.
