Simon Pegg changes his view of George Lucas and Star Wars

Admitting that he misses George Lucas’ vision, Simon Pegg has completed a full 180-degree turn on his opinion of Star Wars and its creator.

Simon Pegg was well known for his criticism of Star Wars during the prequel movies. Voicing his frustration at characters such as Jar Jar Binks, he used the platform Spaced, which he had a role on, to vice this frustration during this time. Something that seems to have all but passed as he completes a full 180-degree turn on his opinion of Star Wars and George Lucas.

During the Adam Buxton Podcast, Pegg explained how he felt about the modern day Star Wars trilogy. Where he explained how he missed the vision of George Lucas. Strong words from the man who did not approve of the Star Wars prequels specifically, Jar Jar Binks.

This is not the first time that Pegg has tried to undo the damage of what he has said in the past about the prequel movies. He apologized for everything that he said about  Jar Jar Binks back in July this year.

In the interview with the Adam Buxton Podcast Pegg had the following to say:

"“For all the complaining that I’d done about him in the prequels, there was something amazing about his imagination.”“I do feel like his voice is missing from the current ones.”"

Following his remarks, I think it would be safe to say that while Pegg was not a fan of the prequels, he much prefers them over the current Star Wars trilogy. Which is surprising since he had a minor part in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

Whether he will feature in Star Wars: Episode IX is unknown, but considering his overall view of how things are going, it seems very unlikely that Pegg would even be willing to work on another Star Wars movie anytime soon.
