Star Wars comics: Age of Republic makes it debut

Three new Star Wars comics hit the shelves this week, featuring a wide range of characters spanning the spectrum of the Star Wars universe.

Marvel’s new maxi series debuts this week with the first comic featuring Qui-Gon Jinn in Age of Republic. It’s one of three new Star Wars comics hitting shops this week.

Star Wars No. 58

The Star Wars series continues with issue No. 58 this week. We’ve seen our heroes get out of sticky situations, and escape death once again.

This week, things might slow down a bit – or will they. Love might be in the air in Star Wars No. 58, but not for everyone.

Here’s Marvel’s synopsis for Star Wars No. 58:

"“THE ESCAPE” – PART 3! Is there romance in the air for Luke and Tula? Is there romance in the air for HAN AND LEIA?! Is there romance in the air between a bunch of stranded rebels and enormous ravenous monsters? No. This last one is no."

Star Wars Age of the Republic Qui-Gon Jinn No. 1

It’s been some time since we’ve heard about one of the greatest Jedi knights, but he’s back in Marvel’s newest series. For prequel fans, this is one Star Wars comic that has been high on their list of must-reads.

It features conflict, Qui-Gon’s issues with the council, and an appearance by Master Yoda.

This is one comic Star Wars fans are surely going to check out. Here’s the synopsis from Marvel:

"JEDI ORDER…OR CHAOS? Considered one of the greatest Jedi Knights or the one who led them to their doom, maverick QUI-GON JINN is one of STAR WARS’ most controversial heroes. Star Wars Adventures: Destroyer Down #2 (of 3)

The Star Wars comic from IDW Publishing features Rey in her days before the events of The Force Awakens. Back then, she was a scavenger on Jakku, searching for remnants from the prolific battle on the planet.

In this issue of Star Wars Adventures, Rey is in a race to get to the Imperial Star Destroyer Spectral first to make her claim on the remnants of the ship after a sandstorm unearthed the hulking mass.
