This may be the best Star Wars Advent Calendar in the galaxy. Twelve days, twelve pairs of socks to wear and review.
The Star Wars 12 Days of Socks is art in every sense of the word. From the beautiful box design to the very socks themselves. While doing some research, I noticed there are several different versions of this Advent Calendar. With equally different socks inside. The one I received was for men’s socks and had front box art that looked nearly identical to the original Star Wars movie poster by Tom Jung.
Aside from the classic “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” message on the movie poster, this box art is complete with a Disney logo. Luke, Leia, C-3PO, and R2-D2 are artistically posed before the large presence of Darth Vader and the climax of the film where the X-Wing fighters attempt to destroy the Death Star. This imagery immediately grabbed my attention and was already a good sign that things were only going to get better.
Do not make the mistake of opening the box from the top unless you want to remove all the socks at once. Instead gently find the nearly invisible pieces of tape along the front to reveal the inside of the box. Once opened you are welcomed to more beautiful visuals of the Star Wars universe! Inside reveals several well-known Star Wars quotes from characters such as Princess Leia, Yoda, Han Solo, Admiral Ackbar and, of course, Chewbacca on the opposite side is the Advent Calendar. Each box is numbered with a hint as to what socks may be hiding behind them.

The cardboard is firm. With a push to break the perforated lines, pull the cardboard piece open and behold a pair of socks! There are six pairs of crew socks and six pairs of low cut socks. While some pairs focus on a particular character such as Yoda or C-3PO, others center on symbols of the Galactic Empire and Rebellion. You can wear everyone’s favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett’s armor on your feet or keep it classic by wearing the Star Wars logo.
These are by no means heavy socks, however, they are not paper-thin either. I find each of them equally comfortable and dare I say cute. How can you not smile at the sight of stormtrooper helmets, Jedi Master Yoda and the intimidating Darth Vader? I received this as a gift from a friend for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier! It is very hard to choose a favorite pair when all of them are worthy of that title!
