In 2015 a furry friend made its debut: Furbacca. Still available for purchase this Furby-Chewbacca combo may just be the cutest Star Wars toy.

Hasbro gave the Furby the upgrade it needed. Combining Star Wars’ Wookiee Chewbacca with the popular talking toy Furby, the Furbacca was born.

What is a Furby? Some of you may remember when the Furby was a must-have toy. It was a small, furry toy that needed to be fed and played with while speaking in a fictional language. While some found the toy outrageously annoying, others couldn’t get enough of them! Furby’s Wikipedia page details how the toy was “released in 1998 by Tiger Electronics,” and “over 40 million Furbies were sold during the three years of its original production.”

More from Editorial

“The updated Emoto-Tronic Furby, with voice-recognition and more complex facial movements, was sold by Hasbro between 2005–2007.”  In 2012, Furbies had more color selections, new LCD eyes and of course a mobile app.  “In June 2015, a Furby that resembles Chewbacca from Star Wars was released.”

This adorable Furbacca took everything that was already accessible to the current Furby and made it more fun! The Furbacca definitely resembles Chewbacca himself down to the bandolier and brown fur. Images from Star Wars including lightsabers appear in the LCD eyes. Like Furbies of the past, you can pet, shake and tickle it.

By downloading the Furbacca app you can further your interactivity. While previous versions of the Furby needed to be fed by pressing your fingers into its beak, Furbacca can be fed by the touch of the screen on the app.

For a closer look at the Furbacca watch this YouTube video. You can purchase the Furbacca on Amazon.com, and Walmart.com but make sure to read the reviews to see if it’s the right toy for you. While both websites provide mostly positive reviews, the toy is on the expensive side. The Furbacca app is still available on Google Play detailing the devices it is capable with however it was last updated in 2015.
