Is Star Wars: Episode IX almost done filming?

A new image made its way online which seems to suggest filming for Star Wars IX is near completed. Does this mean the production will wrap soon?

The filming for Star Wars: Episode IX, the last saga entry in the Skywalker series, has been filming since the summer and a new image hints that the production may be coming to a close. If true, this could be exciting news for fans who have been chomping at the bit for footage. Maybe a tease will drop soon in celebration of a successful production.

The below image comes from Hanna Treharne — a model maker for the Star Wars: Episode IX crew — and in the post is her wearing an official jacket she received as a gift plus a bunch of swag to accompany it. The gift bundle includes a letter of gratitude from the head honchos themselves, and it says:

"DEAR CAST AND CREW OF EPISODE IX:THERE ARE NO WORDS TO PROPERLY EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE AND AMAZEMENT – YOUR WORK HAS BEEN NEXT-LEVEL SPECTACULAR, AND YOU’VE DONE IT ALL WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT. THERE ARE, NO WORDS BUT THERE ARE ARE JACKETS! XO JJ, KATHY, MICHELLE + CALLUM"

This sure is bound to spark a ton of speculation in the coming days about footage, details, photos, and so on. What can be undoubtedly gathered though is Episode IX is very close to being in post-production. And that’s very exciting news. Regardless, I would give anything to get my hands on one of the crew member jackets.

This also aligns with reports that production would wrap in February back in August and suggests that J.J. Abrams will probably deliver the film to the studio ahead of schedule. Given this news, let’s just hope marketing kicks into high gear sooner rather than later.

What do you think? Does this mean Star Wars IX will wrap production soon? Can we expect a teaser next month? Tell us in the comments below!
