Star Wars: Leia and Han Solo pic reminiscent of ‘Reylo’ moment
An image of Leia and Han Solo from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back seems awfully similar to Rey and Kylo in The Last Jedi.
I need to start out by saying I’m not a Reylo shipper. Nope. There’s just way too much toxicity between the two and Kylo Ren has gone too far down the path of evil to have a meaningful relationship in Star Wars.
Having said that, I saw this old image of Leia and Han Solo a few days ago and immediately reminded me of Rey and Kylo Ren in the elevator from The Last Jedi.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself – you can see both photos side-by-side here.
The elevator scene with Rey and Kylo was just too much. That was the moment where it felt as though they were pretty much having mind relations right in front of us. It felt as though we were watching an intimate moment between the two.
I think that scene is when a lot of Reylo shippers really jumped on board too.
When I saw that image that appeared on a Topps trading card, I immediately felt the connection between Leia and Han Solo. The way she looks at him over her eyelids, his little smirk as though he knows what she’s thinking and what he would like to do to her.
Minus, the smirk, I felt the same way watching the elevator scene with Rey and Kylo Ren together.
The question is, was this done on purpose? Was the imagery done this way on between the films or was it merely coincidental on the part of Rian Johnson and company?
I generally don’t believe in coincidences. Although in this case, I do think the directors were trying to elicit an emotion from the audience that revolved around intimacy. It worked in both cases, but I only rooted for one of those couples.
Still, like father, like son.
Are you a Reylo shipper? If so, tell us why in the comments. I would love to hear them.
