Famous (Hidden) Faces

One thing that has been common about the latest Star Wars movies is that there tends to be a celebrity hiding behind mask of a stormtrooper. In Episode IX, we might get two.

It was rumored musician Ed Sheeran and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver will be both be putting on the bucket helmet for the upcoming movie. While neither camp has confirmed the news, it didn’t seem anyone denied it either.

Both Sheeran and Oliver are big Star Wars fans, and given their celebrity status, have been able to cop a role in the upcoming movie though we won’t likely know it’s them until after the fact – and if there parts don’t hit the cutting room floor.

In The Force Awakens, Daniel Craig played the part of stormtrooper aptly named JB-007. Apparently, Prince William and Prince Harry also appeared in The Last Jedi as stormtroopers, but there parts were cut out of the final version of the film.

While this a fun Easter egg if it winds up being true, it’s not something we are dying to see. There are a lot of other things happening in Star Wars: Episode IX that will have our attention.

Rumor level: Low

It may be true, but it also may be a rumor coming from the UK’s Sun, which is not the most reliable of sources. However, it’s also a rumor that has no bearing on the movie, though when the rumor did break on Sheeran’s casting, many fans had a lot to stay especially after his rather interesting performance in Game of Thrones.
