6. Hera

If you ever wanted to start your own rebellion, follow in the footsteps of Hera Syndulla. The Twi’lek managed start her own faction by bringing others to her side with love and compassion.

Her crew of Ghost came from those from all walks of life, including a Jedi who fell in love with her and became the father of her son. She didn’t treat her crew like workers, but she had a motherly bond with them especially Ezra. She treated them like family, which is why they had an undying devotion to her.

Hera was inspired by her father, a resistance fighter in his own right, but she took it a step further, leaving Ryloth to create her own cell. She didn’t even realize early on that her group was part of a bigger rebellion – that’s what makes her work all the more inspiring.

She fought the Empire, thinking she was just a small part, even if it meant she was just a little bug against the huge Empire. She fought in a number of battles, always putting herself in harm’s way and rescuing others who needed it.

Hera didn’t just inspire other rebels, but Star Wars fans. She instantly became a fan favorite as a deeply nuanced character. She wasn’t a Jedi or one with the Force. Hera was a person with a warrior’s heart and the will to do what was right.

Even when Hera had been kidnapped and tortured, she never gave her friends or the rebels.

It didn’t hurt that she was a fantastic pilot either.
