20. Rae Sloane

Rae Sloane is someone who will bend, but never break. It’s also in thanks to her that the Empire never fully dematerialized but the remnants eventually became the First Order.

While Sloane isn’t someone I would have invited over for dinner, she is certainly the person I would want to have my back if ever in battle. She has an exact sense of what she believes in and Sloane doesn’t waver from it.

In the Aftermath novel trilogy, Sloane was seen as someone who made her way up the in ranks in the Imperial Navy. She even became one of the people in the top circle during the waning days of the Empire. And, yet, despite her allegiance to the Empire, she could see where it failed and was not afraid to call the powers that be out on it.

It might have been a detriment, but it’s what allowed Rae to continue to fight because she felt in her what was right. While she was not perfect, and certainly sees order and rule as being paramount, she was also unforgiving in a way that was admirable.

Sloane was tough as nails and became one of the founding leaders of the First Order. If only she used her powers for good.
