19. Padmé’s Handmaidens

Padmé Amidala had several handmaidens, several who stood out including Sabé. They weren’t just trained to be her weapons and protect the queen but also crafted their art of subterfuge as well.

These women were so important to Padmé’s rise and success as Queen and senator. We saw their actions in the Prequel Trilogy with the women, at times, masquerading as the queen. Now, in the book Queen’s Shadow, we get a deeper dive into the world of Padmé and her handmaidens.

If there is a way to be closer than sisters, then that’s what they are. They have each other’s backs and will fight to the ends of the galaxy if that’s what it would take to protect each other. But what’s amazing about them is also their ability to let go and support each other in their latest endeavors.

Everyone could use a group of handmaidens like this. Not just for the protecting, but for the amazing physical, mental and emotional support they bestowed on each other.

And the handmaidens do have names. Some of them are Sabé, Eirté, Rabé, among many others.

A group of women that were strong individually but greater together.
