18. Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura was a Jedi Master, fighting in the Grand Army of the Republic. There wasn’t much Aayla couldn’t handle. Her downfall wound up being Order 66 that saw the murder of nearly all the Jedi.

But Aayla won’t be remembered for her death, but in the way that she embraced life. She didn’t shy away from a fight. Even though she was a general in the Grand Army of the Republic, she was on the front lines fighting with her soldiers.

Throughout her years, the Jedi trusted her on some of the most important missions, including the rescue of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala on Geonosis. That battle didn’t really go well, but Secura fought hard and managed to survive.

Even though Aayla tended to be defined by her fighting, she is much more than that. She had a fun side and also a soft side. Aayla attended funerals of those that perished who she couldn’t save, and also offered advice to Ahsoka Tano.

It’s a shame that Order 66 took her out because Aayla could have been one of the greats and a fascinating character in the Star Wars universe. There’s a reason she’s become a fan favorite.
