If you haven’t picked up tickets to the event, it’s a little late — although there are some Monday tickets currently available. However, if you’re one of the few thousand who has tickets, we have some great tips for your trip to Star Wars Celebration.

Tip No. 1: How to dress

While going to an event like Star Wars Celebration, there’s going to be a lot of walking around. Given that, one of the best things is knowing how to dress.

Cosplayers have their own set of dress standards, but that still doesn’t mean you can forget about certain aspects of what you’re wearing.

First thing is wearing comfortable shoes. If you’re going to be walking, taking pictures with cosplayers or celebrities, checking out the different tables and panels, you will want to make sure that you are wearing the right shoes. They should be comfortable, won’t rub your ankles or toes, and have good padding.

Also, wearing the right socks is important if you’re going that route. You don’t want any part of your shoe rubbing against your skin and winding up with blisters by the end of the first day.

You should also wear layers if you can. When walking around a big convention center, the temperature isn’t perfect. There are pockets with cool air and others where it will be warm. It’s important to wear layers so that you will always be comfortable.
