Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back has some of the best surprises in the film franchise as well as an unforgettable soundtrack. Prepare to experience the musical score live in Philadelphia.

What better time to relive the inspirational and epic musical score from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back than in the summer? On July 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET “The Philadelphia Orchestra will play John Williams’ iconic musical score live as the film is projected on three giant screens,” at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

Last year Star Wars: A New Hope was presented at the Mann and now it is The Empire Strikes Back’s turn.

Time to grab your friends and enjoy a night of musical splendor only the brilliant mind of John Williams can create. This all-ages event is part of the “Mann’s Summer Picnic Series” with ticket prices ranging from $25 to $95 (+$5 DOS fee).

While this is an event showcasing the excitement and thrills of the second film in the original Star Wars film franchise, the website is clear, “please leave all masks, toy weapons (lightsabers, imitation grenades, etc.) and armor at home!” It seems there is are no robust cosplays allowed — at least no weapons.

Before attending it couldn’t hurt to rewatch Star Wars: A New Hope with some new fans.
