Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 20th Anniversary Celebration
Time: Monday, 11 a.m. CT
May will mark the 20-year anniversary of the release of The Phantom Menace. At its release, it received a lot of criticism – especially from original trilogy fans. And it wasn’t good. There were a lot of issues with the film and it a lot of flaws.
But in the course of those 20 years, The Phantom Menace and the prequel trilogy has gotten a newfound love.
Many of the fans that were introduced to Star Wars with the prequel trilogy are adults now, showcasing that love on their social media feeds as well as with their wallets. The Phantom Menace doesn’t get the same bad rap that it once did – through those flaws do still exist.
This panel will be fun, especially for the fans who have adored this movie from the beginning.
It will feature at least eight actors or producers from the movie, including Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Ray Park (Darth Maul), and Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks). While Hayden Christensen is signing in the autograph pavilion, he is not slated for being on the panel.
Though it would be a nice surprise if he did.
