Wanting to please his dead grandfather, Kylo Ren has killed a Supreme Leader, disagreed with General Hux and seems to teeter on the edge. With the Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker teaser having hit we now know that an old villain is set to return, but could his return be tied to Ren?
Has Kylo Ren been working with Darth Sidious the whole time? Imagine the twist! Kylo Ren working with the person his grandfather seemingly killed. We know that Sidious was always looking for the next apprentice. From Anakin to Luke he was always looking at who was the next most powerful to help him carry out his plans.
Also, Ren would fit a certain bill as he comes from Skywalker bloodlines. While fans were in shock to hear the Emperor’s laugh at the conclusion of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer, it really should not have been a surprise.
Director JJ Abrams said on Episode IX panel that the characters from The Force Awakens would have to join together to defeat what he called “the greatest evil.” No one in their right mind every thought it would be Sidious.
If Ren and Sidious are indeed joined together in tandem, it would explain why Kylo killed off Snoke. Killing Snoke would allow Kylo Ren and Darth Sidious the opportunity to rule the galaxy. The question then becomes what other plans have the two conjured up? If “the greatest evil” needs to be defeated, wouldn’t that mean said greatest evil is in motion?
