10. Rose Tico – Kentucky
When thinking of Kentucky, many outsiders might consider it a farming state. Although it’s a great location for agriculture, the state is also a leading manufacturer in automobiles. The state of Kentucky could greatly use an expert mechanic in Rose Tico.
Rose Tice first makes her Star Wars debut in The Last Jedi. As a maintenance tech, Rose joins the Resistance alongside her sister Paige. The sister grew up despising the First Order for what they did to their home planet which is why they joined the fight. After the death of Paige, Rose carries on and meets Finn. The duo works together to destroy the First Order tracking device that was following the Resistance’s movement. To fulfill the mission, they wind up on Canto Bight in search of a “master codebreaker.”
Rose and Finn eventually find who they were looking for, but get distracted by a side mission. Like fellow Kentuckians, Rose had a love of horses, or in the Star Wars universe, fathiers, which were horse-like creatures. Rose helps free the creatures, but the codebreaker went on to fool the duo by delivering them to the First Order. They later escape thanks to BB-8 in time to participate in the Battle of Crait. The mechanic and former maintenance tech is now a full-fledged Resistance hero.
