15. Crystal Fox â Arkansas
The state mineral of Arkansas is quartz. The mineral itself has a crystal-like composition and commonly used for many types of jewelry. Although there are no creatures on Earth that resemble quartz and crystals, if Crystal Foxes existed, we think they would derive from Arkansas.
The Crystal Fox first appears in The Last Jedi as a native species to the planet Crait. Technically, the species is identified as Vulptices. A Vulptex is a fox-like creature that has a coat made up of white, spikey crystalline bristles. Their bristles are meant to help them against predators. They also have a keen sense and the ability to burrow in the planetâs salt crust through caves and canyons.
Crystal Foxes roam free among the ruins of the abandoned Rebel Alliance base on the planet Crait. After the Resistance returns to the outpost, a group of Vulptices is revealed. They remain inside the base while the battle between the First Order and the Resistance was taking place. When the group thought they were trapped in the Outpost, they notice that the Crystal Foxes had somehow escaped. They follow their trail and are eventually led out, partly due to Rey moving the rocks with her Force powers. But the Crystal Foxes also deserve some credit.
