26. Lobot – Oklahoma
Oklahoma, the “Sooner State,” is a leading producer of natural gas, oil, and agriculture. The Great Plains region of the state is also prone to severe weather. As the state’s inhabitants rely on effective communication for safety when it comes to weather, they would probably want Lobot on their side.
Lobot was the aide for Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian on Cloud City. The city was located on the gas giant planet Bespin which was a key location for gas mining and harvesting. Lobot first worked for the Empire before he switched allegiances to assist Lando. Lobot was part-cyborg and wore a brain-enhancing device around the back of his head. This technology allowed him to communicate with Cloud City’s central computer.
As a computer liaison officer, Lobot was vital in protecting his city when Vader and his stormtroopers apprehended the rebels. Lobot successfully held the Imperial guards hostage so that Lando could free the rebels and escape with them from the planet. He also helped evacuate the city to keep the citizens away from the Imperial troops. The Empire still took over Cloud CIty, but Lobot continued to relay messages to Lando until the planet was eventually liberated when the Empire fell.
