30. Han Solo – Wyoming
The state of Wyoming is covered in mountains and an elevated prairie known as the High Plains. The state’s economy is driven by mineral extraction and agriculture, as well as tourism. Wyoming is also nicknamed the “Cowboy State.” Who can better be described as a cowboy than the beloved character, Han Solo?
The character of Han Solo was crucial to the original Star Wars trilogy. The gun-toting space cowboy piloted the Millennium Falcon and became a key player in the Rebel Alliance’s fight against the Empire. Han and sidekick Chewbacca were often directly involved with the conflict, even coming face to face with some the of the Empire’s most powerful figures. Han played a part in major battles for the rebels and eventually turned into a love interest to Princess Leia.
The smooth-talking Han Solo never backed down from a fight. His complex backstory was on full display in Solo: A Star Wars Story which detailed his early life prior to the events in the original trilogy. After realizing his own bravery and forgoing his selfish ways, Han evolved into a very loyal ally. His character returned for The Force Awakens where it was revealed that Han and Leia had an estranged son, Ben, who went on to become Kylo Ren.
