36. Max Rebo – Tennessee
Tennessee is another state that has played a crucial role in developing many forms of music. Rock and roll, blues, jazz, and of course country, all have roots in Tennessee. Max Rebo and his band would have likely found a successful career touring through the state.
Max Rebo was a musician from the planet Orto. He was and Ortolan, a blue-skinned species with big floppy ears and a large snout similar to an elephant trunk. Max was the leader of the Max Rebo Band where he played the red ball jett organ. The organ was a large keyboard instrument with 21 keys that Max sat in to play with his feet. Other bandmates included Droopy McCool and Sy Snootles.
The Max Rebo Band was a fixture at Jabba the Hutt’s place in Tatooine. Their most well-known tune was called “Jedi Rocks,” which Jabba was a big fan of. The band was playing for Jabba when a slave dancer was dropped into a rancor pit where the woman was then devoured. Several of the band members, including Max, were present on Jabba’s sail barge when attempting to execute Han, Chewie, and Luke. After the barge is destroyed, it was unclear if the band survived.
