3. K-2SO – Virginia

Virginia has a long history when it comes to the early days of the country. It’s also home to eight presidents, more than any other state. Many federal agencies call Virginia home due to its proximity to D.C., including the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the U.S. Department of Defense. One particular droid might find a fit in the state of Virginia.

K-2SO was introduced in Rogue One as a security droid. The droid was originally intended to serve the Empire and its armed forces but then it met Cassian Andor. The rebel spy reprogrammed K-2SO so that the droid would serve the Rebel Alliance and their effort to destroy the Empire. Security droids like K-2SO were supposed to be emotionless, but the reprogramming left him sarcastic. He often disobeyed orders to prove his worth on missions.

K-2SO accompanied Cassian and Jyn Erso on multiple missions throughout Rogue One. The droid could easily infiltrate Empire bases by pretending to be a normal Imperial droid. He led Cassian and Jyn through the security base on Scarif to find the Death Star plans. As the pair entered the data vault, K-2SO held off the stormtroopers and made sure they couldn’t get through, sacrificing himself in the process.
