Matching 50 Star Wars characters with each of the 50 states

41. C-3PO – California
California, aka the “Golden State,” would be a perfect match for the beloved droid, C-3PO. The gold droid has a long history in the Star Wars universe just as California has a lengthy history in the United States. The character has appeared in every major Star Wars film among the three trilogy series.
The humanoid robot was built by Anakin Skywalker as a protocol droid. C-3PO was intended to assist in etiquette and communication. He and his droid counterpart, R2-D2, have found themselves involved in many important moments among the galaxy’s tumultuous history. The duo assisted in multiple battles and served key characters such as Padmé Amidala, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa. C-3PO still provides aid to Leia, who is now a General in the Resistance.
C-3PO would also feel at home in the Silicon Valley area of California. As a protocol droid, C-3PO is said to be fluent in over seven million forms of communications. That communication and his experience with technology would come in handy at the hub for technology and innovation. The location could also provide some help when it comes to his gold chrome plating and robotic make-up, especially when he loses a limb which happens often.
