47. Qui-Gon Jinn – Georgia
Since Georgia is south of the Mason Dixon line, it’s categorized as a state full of southern hospitality. That hospitality is often shown through kindness, charm, and helpfulness. Qui-Gon Jinn contained all of those qualities, making him a perfect candidate for Georgia.
Qui-Gon Jinn was a Jedi Master that often marched to the beat of his own drum. As a student of the Living Force, Qui-Gon would tend to ignore the Jedi Code and requests made by the High Council. He was known to live in the moment and trust his own instincts. As a Jedi, Qui-Gon trained Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Qui-Gon also discovered young slave Anakin Skywalker as he sensed the boy’s potential as the “Chosen One.” He eventually liberated Anakin from slavery and tried to use his charm to convince the Council that the boy deserved genuine training. Qui-Gon had a reputation of being very empathetic, willing to help those who needed it. The Jedi Master was killed in a duel with Darth Maul, but it was his dying wish that Obi-Wan train young Anakin. Qui-Gon continued to communicate to Obi-Wan and Yoda after his death as a Force ghost. He taught how to use eternal consciousness so they too could do so after death.
