48. Porgs – Hawaii
The state of Hawaii is composed entirely of islands. Those islands showcase the state’s gorgeous landscape of beaches, mountains, and valleys. Hawaii is also home to a variety of flora and wildlife species, some of which can only be found within the state. If Porgs had to pick a state to live in, they would definitely choose Hawaii.
Porgs are a species of birds that were introduced in The Last Jedi. The sea-dwellers are said to be native of Ahch-To, a planet covered by water except for remote islands. Porgs are puffin-like birds with short wings and beakless faces. They settled all over Luke’s remote island on the cliffs while keeping an eye on the inhabitants.
The cute little creatures become very curious when Rey and Chewbacca arrived on the island. Rey uses Porgs during her Jedi training but Chewie didn’t start off on the right foot with the birds. At one point, he roasts a few of them for dinner as other Porgs looked on in horror. Chewie later makes it up to them by helping with their nest. Multiple Porgs make their way onto the Millennium Falcon where they build a new nest. One Porg is even alongside Chewie during the Battle of Crait. They will most likely reappear in Episode IX now that they made a friend in Chewie and they provide comic relief.
