4. Mon Mothma – Connecticut

Connecticut also has a long history in shaping the country, dating back to the Industrial Revolution and the American Civil War. During the war, Connecticut supplied the Union forces weapons, supplies, and troops. Their participation changed the course of the war. The same can be said with Mon Mothma and Galactic War.

Mon Mothma was a politician and leader who served in the Galactic Senate. She was an ally to Bail Organa and sought peace within the galaxy. Mon Mothma was against Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and how he was changing the Republic into the Empire. She secretly worked with Bail Organa to create the Rebel Alliance after she left the Senate. Mon Mothma was also the one who recruited Jyn Erso, who was a key figure in stealing the plans of the Death Star.

Mon Mothma continued to lead the Rebel Alliance following the Battle of Scarif. She helped forge the assault with the Battle of Endor and helped form the New Republic. Later elected as the first chancellor of the New Republic Senate, Mon Mothma tried to create a new order. She continued her political path as the galaxy continued to struggle with new ideologies but she will always be remembered as one of the most prominent female figures in Star Wars.
