6. Mace Windu – South Carolina
South Carolina is often recognized for its beautiful coastlines and colonial culture. What many might not know is that amethyst is the official gemstone of South Carolina. Considering Mace Windu’s iconic lightsaber, North Carolina might be an appealing place for the Jedi.
Mace Windu was introduced in The Phantom Menace as the Master of the Jedi High Council. He tried to uphold the ancient traditions of the Jedi Order, but soon realized that the Sith were emerging as a growing threat. Mace Windu amplified his participation in the feud between the two sides during the time of the Clone Wars. After he learned Palpatine’s identity was actually Darth Sidious, Mace Windu faced off with the Sith Lord in a lightsaber duel. Mace Windu fought an equal match until Anakin jumped in and got him killed.
Mace Windu was a memorable character within the prequel trilogy, especially because his weapon of choice stood out. The lightsaber he used was very distinct as it contained an amethyst blade. He is still the only character known for using a purple lightsaber. Mace Windu’s had advanced combat skills when it came to using his lightsaber. He had the ability to deflect blaster shots with the use of his lightsaber and could also block Force lightning.
