Hayden Christensen: Ranking his top five movies roles of all-time

1. Star Wars: Episode II and III

We all knew what number one would be, but it’s not just because we write about Star Wars. This was his best role – even if there were criticisms on his acting.

It was his important and influential role as well.

As Anakin Skywalker, he was embodied one of the most recognizable characters in film history. He was Darth Vader before he fell to the Dark Side of the Force. He had to show love, hate, anger, hope, fear, and every other emotion that pulled at his soul.

It wasn’t an easy task either considering the vast number of people that would see these films.

But that Anakin Skywalker connected with people. So much so that 20 years later, Christensen had a huge line at his autograph booth at Star Wars Celebration, fans cheered when they saw him and told him how much he meant to them.

That’s what Star Wars: Episode II and III did for fans. An entire generation fell in love with the franchise in a large part due to Hayden Christensen. We watched him turn from a boy with a special gift to a man who thought he had lost everything and was utterly destroyed.

For that, we are thankful he brought Darth Vader’s backstory to life.
