More from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reprises their roles from the original trilogy, as Han Solo, Leia, and Luke Skywalker, respectively. A lot of people were excited  Ford came back as Han Solo considering he wanted Han Solo to die.

So in The Force Awakens, a lot of people were expecting him to die and sure enough, he was killed by his own son — and we all thought that was the end of Han Solo

However, the latest Star Wars rumor is that Harrison Ford is coming back as Han Solo for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

If the final movie in the Skywalker Saga is to bring everything full circle and bringing Palpatine back, it makes sense Ford would come back too.

While the report comes from a reputable source, it’s something that may not happen. Ford has wanted Han Solo to die since the original trilogy, giving him a hero’s farewell as was shown in the Han Solo book by Insight Edition.

Kylo Ren had a watershed moment on Starkiller Base when Han Solo confronts him. Kylo is faced with going with his father or killing him — similar to Vader in Return of the Jedi. To have that moment again with Kylo would be inconsistent with everything that has happened to him.
