9. Qui-Gon Jinn

Qui-Gon Jinn learned the ways of the Jedi from Count Dooku, who ultimately switched sides and thought he could convince Jinn to do the same. Once he becomes a Jedi Master himself, he trains Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.

There are three battles that are pretty significant for Jinn. He and Obi-Wan find themselves fighting against the Trade Federation because they were in league with Sidious. They were supposed to be executed, but it failed and they fought their way out.

Shortly after Jinn learned that Anakin was the Chosen One, he crossed paths with Darth Maul and the two fought on Tatooine. Jinn knew that he couldn’t let Darth Maul get his hands on Anakin, who was set to go to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. Jinn knew what he had to do and he fought long enough for the ship to arrive and was able to get away quickly.

Jinn would late encounter Darth Maul again for the last time. The fight was one-on-one since Obi-Wan didn’t arrive until after Maul has put his lightsaber right through Jinn’s chest. It was a pretty even fight until Maul was able to knock Jinn off-balance just enough to deliver the fatal blow.
