5. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi spent many years using his fighting skills for good before he essentially went into hiding in order to keep an eye on Luke Skywalker. When the time came, he revealed himself and trained Luke, just as he trained his father, Anakin.

Both Anakin and Luke are on this list and you wouldn’t necessarily have either of them on it without their training from Obi-Wan. Yes, they would still have ties to the Force and I’m guessing Anakin would have still found himself turning to the dark side regardless of who trained him. It’s not common for someone to train a father and a son, though, so it makes Obi-Wan stand out.

The official Star Wars site laid out their 10 best fights and Obi-Wan is involved in half of them. That doesn’t make him the best fighter in the galaxy, but it puts him high on the list. He went up against General Grievous, Darth Maul, Anakin, Jango Fett and once Anakin became Vader, the two fought again.

All of those fights put Obi-Wan’s talents on full display. He sacrifices himself in the first lightsaber duel we even get to see in the movies. From that moment, we get a sense of everything Obi-Wan stood for, even before more of his backstory is filled in at later dates.
