C3PO (Anthony Daniels), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) in STAR WARS: EPISODE IX.
Why The Rise of Skywalker will be beat Avengers: Endgame
Star Wars: Episode IX is one of the most highly anticipated movies coming out this season. Disney did a good job of separating Endgame and The Rise of Skywalker in the calendar — they pay people good money to make these decisions.
Christmas is also one of the big time for moviegoers — and Star Wars films have historically done well at this time.
What makes Episode IX so important is that all our questions, everything that has happened until now should generally have an answer. And Star Wars fans need to know the answers to it all.
Despite those that were upset over The Last Jedi (which is the still the 11th-best grossing movie of all-time), it’s tough to think they won’t be going to the theater to see how it all ends.
So far, Disney is also doing a good job of marketing the film. They have J.J. Abrams and all those around him saying the right things — with a little bit of fan service involved. The teaser trailer was well received and the laugh by Emperor Palpatine at the end of it caught many by surprise, but in the best way possible.
The hype around Episode IX is real and we can only expect that intensify once Avengers: Endgame dies down. Star Wars fans around the world are passionate and intense. The final episode of the Skywalker Saga should put up some impressive numbers.
