Star Wars: New York Mets to give out Obi-Wan Kenobi-inspired bobblehead

Most MLB teams celebrate Star Wars on May the Fourth, but the New York Mets are coming out with a Star Wars inspired bobblehead on May 25.

According to mlb.com, the New York Mets announced that they will be giving out an Obi-Wan Kenobi-inspired Star Wars bobblehead on Saturday, May 25 to the first 25,000 fans in attendance.

The bobblehead is of Mets second baseman Robinson Canó, and the team is calling it the “Obi-Wan Canóbi” bobblehead. Now that is clever.

The Mets also announced that this game will be Star Wars Day at Citi Field.

As you can see in the picture of the bobblehead, Canó is sporting the signature Jedi robe that Obi-Wan Kenobi is best known for wearing. Plus, instead of a bat, Canó is wielding a blue lightsaber. That seems like the perfect style bat to hit some home runs with.

Canó is also rocking a Mets hat.

On the base of the bobblehead, you can see the words “Obi-Wan Canóbi.”

Unfortunately for Canó, despite this being his (and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s) bobblehead night, the Mets second baseman will not be playing in this game because according to mlb.com, he suffered an injury on May 22 that will sideline him for several games.

If you love Star Wars and baseball, the “Obi-Wan Canóbi” bobblehead is perfect for you.
