16. Leia kills Jabba the Hutt
Movie: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
Characters involved: Leia Organa, Jabba the Hutt, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca
Han Solo was captured and frozen in carbonite at the end of The Empire Strikes Back. At the beginning of Return of the Jedi, he was given to crime lord Jabba the Hutt where he put him on display as part of his collection. Little did he know, Han’s friends were planning a rescue mission.
Lando, Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C-3PO infiltrated Jabba’s palace to get back Han. Leia successfully freed him but was then taken prisoner by Jabba. The crime lord turned her into his slave and made her wear a metal bikini. Serving as his new companion, Leia was chained with no way to escape.
Luke later arrived at the palace to bargain for Han’s life, but instead, Jabba tried to feed him to his monster pet. Luke easily killed the Rancor which caused Jabba to order Luke, Han, and Chewie to be executed through the Sarlacc pit.
At the Great Pit of Carkoon, Luke fought back against the guards. During the confusion, Leia jumped at the opportunity to attack Jabba. She used her chains and strangled Jabba to death. The group then had the chance to fully escape imprisonment.
