7. Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader round 1

Movie: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

Characters involved: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Padmé Amidala

Obi-Wan was tasked with one of the most difficult missions in Revenge of the Sith. At the request of his dying friend, Obi-Wan trained Anakin Skywalker. Little did he know, his apprentice would go on to join the dark side and become on the galaxy’s biggest villains.

After Anakin turned into Darth Vader, he traveled to the Jedi temple and killed all inside, including the children. Obi-Wan had a very hard time learning that his apprentice would do such a thing. Yoda requested that Obi-Wan kill Vader to end the carnage. The Jedi was distraught at the idea but agreed.

Obi-Wan hid out on Padmé Amidala’s ship to find out Vader’s location. Obi-Wan revealed himself, but made matters worse as Vader thought he and Obi-Wan conspired together to kill him. Vader tried to choke and kill Padmé before Obi-Wan intervened and dueled with his former apprentice.

By the end of the lightsaber fight, Obi-Wan left Vader for dead, severing his legs and left arm. Obi-Wan took Vader’s lightsaber and left him along the lava river thinking he took out the threat. Of course, Vader was rescued and reconstructed.
