18. Finn leaves the First Order

Finn has come a long way since we first met him in The Force Awakens. The story about his childhood was very haunting. He was taken from his family at a young age and sold to the First Order as they planned to expand their army. Finn then grew up to become a First Order stormtrooper, but it makes sense why he never fully gave into the lifestyle.
Finn was first introduced as a First Order stormtrooper under the name, FN-2187. He served Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren at the time. Finn’s first mission came on the planet of Jakku. He witnessed one of his fellow stormtroopers get killed right in front of him. Finn then witnessed the carnage and massacre of the Jakku villagers at the hands of the First Order. Finn refused to fire his weapon, but Phasma and Kylo noticed.
Finn was sent to reconditioning but instead, he made a heroic action. He finally decided to leave the First Order behind as he is morally opposed to their beliefs. He and the captured Poe then stole a TIE fighter and flee the ship. Finn’s action eventually led him to join the Resistance which is where he truly belongs.
