SEE IT: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens to some serious fanfare
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is here and we have a look at some preview images from the opening. My goodness, we can’t wait to go.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the theme park of your dreams. It features the Millennium Falcon, droids, lightsabers, blue milk and everything else under the twin suns.
The first phase officially opened on Thursday with fans came from everywhere getting one of the first looks at the Disneyland park. On Wednesday, there was a sneak peek and an opening ceremony that featured just about everyone you want to see from the original trilogy including Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford.
It’s amazing the lengths some fans will go to in order to feel part of this extravagant exhibit, including decking out their phones to look like holopads while walking throughout Galaxy’s Edge. Now, we just have to figure out how to do that to ours.
We found some really great images from the first two nights and wanted to share them in this photo gallery, including some thoughts on what we see.
The VIPs

In only the most appropriate way possible, Galaxy’s Edge kicked off with this trio from the original trilogy — and the maker, George Lucas. Billy Dee Williams, Ford and Hamill helped open the Star Wars them park.
It’s great to see them all assemble for something that could be a ton of fun for fans. I was even more surprised Ford showed up, but he did it in great fashion. During the opening ceremony, the Falcon apparently didn’t work and Disney CEO Bob Iger asked if there anything who could fix it.
Out walked Ford who then dedicated the moment to the later Peter Mayhew, his co-pilot.

This was a great shot of Ford and Hamill hanging out outside the Millennium Falcon exhibit. You could easily forget the original Star Wars was more than 40 years ago and they certainly seem like their old characters in this moment.

What a fantastic shot. Galaxy’s Edge is going to look beautiful no matter the time of day.

This looks like the cantina, which every Star Wars movie or any entity needs to have a meeting place of different species. Though, why so many humans?

The details in the gift shop are even stunning. This could certainly seem like an outpost some place grabbing the essentials you need before you take off from Black Spire Outpost.

Droid Alley seems like a place you wouldn’t want to get in after dark.
While these images showed a smalls snippet, what do you think of Galaxy’s Edge so far. When do you to visit?
