The Clone Wars saw a number of different fighting forces. We rank the top five local fighting forces during this period.

While the largest and most infamous battles of the Clone Wars were generally fought between the clone armies of the Republic and the droid armies of the Separatists, local fighting forces were frequently caught in the middle of the fray.

These forces fought ferociously to defend their homes from the fire of war that was spreading across the galaxy.

Here are the top five local fighting forces ranked in order.

5. The Gungan Grand Army

Perhaps a controversial choice given the fact that the Gungans only narrowly defeated an army of B1 battle droids due to a 9 year old crash landing into the hangar of a control ship and proceeding to fire wildly at everything in sight, the Gungan Grand Army nevertheless proved its worth throughout the Clone Wars.

Of particular note is their role in one of the few times General Grievous was actually captured during the events of the war. Following a deception led by none other than the infamous Jar Jar Binks, General Grievous engaged in fierce combat with a group of Gungan warriors.

Ultimately, the Gungans proved victorious and were able to capture General Grievous, a feat that countless other beings had lost their lives attempting.

Also worth noting is the role played by the Gungan Grand Army in the Battle of Mon Cala, where they valiantly came to the aide of desperate Mon Cala and Republic forces.
