8. Steven Yeun
Steven Yeun delivered one of the strongest performances on AMC’s The Walking Dead as Glenn Rhee, opening the door for the young actor to break into Hollywood scene and, most recently, land roles in The Twilight Zone reboot and Star Trek: Discovery on CBS All Access.
In a show that could sometimes stall in terms of story and character development, Yeun’s portrayal of Glenn was the most consistent among a large cast of characters and he stood out as a fan favorite right from the get-go, starting with his introduction in the first episode of the series.
His character overcame many trials and tribulations in the post-apocalyptic drama, and his on-screen relationship with Maggie, played by Lauren Cohan, touched all of our hearts, because the performances by Yeun and Cohan were the most believable.
It will be interesting to see his involvement in Star Trek: Discovery and how he fits into the genre of science fiction, but Lucasfilm should keep their eyes on Yeun to potentially nab him for a role in one of the upcoming films of the next decade.
In 2020, Yeun will also star in the animated series Invincible alongside Mark Hamill, closing the degrees of separation between Yeun and Star Wars. He would be a great addition to the franchise and would settle in perfectly alongside whatever band of personalities Benioff and Weiss are putting together.
