Star Wars: What Legends stories would you want canon?
Star Wars stories have been told for more than 40 years, but many of them were sent to the “Legends” territory with some elements slowly brought back. What Star Wars story would you like to see as part of the canon again?
They’re now called “Legends.” Star Wars had dozens of stories and hundreds of characters for years and years.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm, it took the Star Wars Expanded Universe and called it Legends. But slowly, elements of the EU have found their way into Disney’s canon.

If you had a choice, what stories or elements would you want to see brought into the new canon?
Here are a few examples of what Disney brought back:
Thrawn
Grand Admiral Thrawn was one of the most interesting characters created for the EU. Timothy Zahn introduced him to us 1991 in the highly acclaimed novel Heir to the Empire. Thrawn had so many adventures.
Then he was gone.
But Zahn had a chance to bring Thrawn back for a new trilogy, which began in 2017. The stories have some similarities, but Zahn is taking this Thrawn in a new direction with ties to Anakin Skywalker, the Emperor and more.
He even had a large role in Star Wars: Rebels.
The last book of the new Thrawn trilogy comes out July 23.
Ben Solo
No, Ben Solo as he is portrayed in the movies was not in the EU. In the books, Leia and Han had three children: Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin. There was a Ben in the EU, but he was Luke and Mara Jade’s child.
Jacen was Luke’s apprentice and eventually — through a long story — joined the Sith and became Darth Caedus.
Obviously, there are similarities there to Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, but their stories are not similar in how they turned to the dark side even though we don’t really know the full story on how Ben Solo turned into Kylo Ren yet.
Czerka
In the Legends, Czerka was a company that had influence across the galaxy. It worked in mining, arms and other shady areas. It also partnered with the Sith and the Empire, becoming a very opportunistic company.
Czerka was spotted again in Master & Apprentice and not much has changed about the company. The people that work there don’t have the best interests of the greater galaxy in mind, enslaving people for cheap labor and exploiting planets for its riches.
Not much has changed about Czerka. It’s still a harmful company that is allowed to play the villain time and again.
These were three examples Legends bring brought into canon in its own way. What stories or characters would you like to see next?
